As a wedding caterer we are sometimes fortunate enough to be a part of the entire wedding process from engagement to the final “I do’s”. It’s always a joy for the whole Hog Roast Hackney team when we get something like this because it allows us to really build up a relationship with a customer and feel like we are a part of very privileged position with something truly special and unique.
So, then, we were honoured to be catering for a very surprise engagement the other week with one of our customers Alastair. Alastair has been a Hog Roast Hackney customer for some time having employed us over the years for his own business. This request was different from our usual staff lunches and annual business parties; Alastair was due to get engaged, instead.
He wanted the Hog Roast Hackney team to be there for the big moment – not because we are great friends or anything, but because we can make great moments even more special. Alastair intended on surprising his partner Mairi with the engagement which would then immediately prompt a celebration with close knit friends and family just waiting in the wings. Hog Roast Hackney would also be in the wings; our hog roast ready to go for some champagne and delicious pork rolls and wraps.
The surprise engagement took a lot of planning to come together, The whole thing was meticulously detailed, and fortunately it came off exactly as intended. She said yes! As we popped the champagne, friends and family all came rushing out to congratulate the new pair of fiancés – Mairi most certainly pleasantly taken aback by the entire thing! To right her again our hog roast rolls were served up right away! Just the way to toast to a new life together.
Now going forward we are delighted to say that we will also be joining the pair again for their wedding later next year, as well as the official engagement party this autumn. We’re delighted to be with you, Alastair and Mairi, for one of your most special moments in life, and we would like to congratulate you both again on the engagement!
