Hog Roast Hackney FAQ – Is A Hog Roast Suitable For Children?

That is really up to the disclosure of the parent or guardian. For what it is worth, over our thirty years of catering we at Hog Roast Hackney have seen plenty of kids really enjoy a good bit of our hog roast, ranging from one year olds and beyond. It is salty, crispy, and tender pork – what is not to love! And you’re not going to have to worry about bones or any choking hazards either with Hog Roast Hackney.

But we can of course recognise that a roast dinner is not always the most exciting or suited meal for a kids menu, especially if the event itself revolves around children. There is nothing inherently wrong with kids enjoying our hog roast, but you should know that as a whole pork it is high in fat content and can be quite salty – in a way that our adult palettes absolutely love, of course. If you’d rather not have the children at your event consuming something that fatty then your Hog Roast Hackney team will be more than happy to find a more suitable alternative.

This can be a menu for the whole event, or we can split the dining into two different styles for the kids and the adults. That way you still get your delicious pork roast while the kids enjoy something a little more of their speed. In the past we have found our smaller burgers and sausages can be a good choice, or we can bring along our smaller pizza ovens to give the kids a go at making their own pizza in a safe environment. In speaking with your Hog Roast Hackney chefs we guarantee that we can find a dining solution to keep your kids happy and give you peace of mind. We’ll even do our best to get plenty of veggies and good carbs in there to keep them healthy in doing so, too!

But of course if you do decide to go with our hog roast then perhaps we can dish up a portion that is a little more suited for the kids. A pulled pork, for example, that will be easy to eat in a roll or wrap while you enjoy a more formal roast dinner course.
