Hog Roast Barnet Had A Ball At A Heritage Festival!

Is there really any better way to spend the weekend than by scouting out stalls at a local street festival and stuffing your face with freshly made, delicious food? We think not! So, when Hog Roast Barnet was invited to attend an outdoor heritage gala in the next town over, our catering team were over the moon.

In recent years, we’ve noticed that open-air festivals such as these have become tremendously popular within the community, and, as such, we are finding that our bookings for these types of events are through the roof – especially at the minute with everyone eager to celebrate their regained freedoms. And with that in mind, the event organiser and member of the local culture and heritage team, Katie, was keen for us to impress with our traditional hog roast rolls, which are part of our Classic Hog Roast Menu.

With over 250 mouths to feed, staggered throughout the day, the Hog Roast Barnet team had begun preparations for the feast in the early hours of that morning.

Hog Roast Barnet Using the HogMaster Pros, the crew masterfully slow-cooked a pair of heavy-weight, free-range pigs, which had been scored, rubbed with salt and water (for that gorgeous crackling!), before being immersed in a thick layer of homemade sage and onion stuffing and left to sizzle for several hours. Meanwhile, the team used their remaining time to slice open the mixture of gluten-free and wholemeal baps, which they piled high in wicker baskets beside a row of neatly lined napkins, condiments, dips and a large bowl of homemade applesauce. But they weren’t done yet!

Expecting veggies and vegans to attend, Hog Roast Barnet whipped up our delicious, grilled vegetable skewers with tzatziki dip, flatbread and the option of added halloumi. And to tie everything together, they prepped a light and leafy side salad, as well as our best-loved gourmet coleslaw.

We’re ecstatic to be able to share that the heritage fair brought everyone together with lots of cultural food, drink and arts and crafts, and Hog Roast Barnet was there to satisfy everyone’s taste buds with our beautifully cooked pulled pork rolls!
