Beating The January Blues With Hog Roast Archway

Hog Roast ArchwayOnce the thrill of Christmas and the buzz of New Year’s Eve wears off, the infamous January Blues starts to come creeping in. Renowned for causing nationwide misery, the January Blues manifests itself through feelings of sadness, lack of energy, tiredness and demotivation.

According to the experts, this phenomenon affects more than a quarter of Brits every single year. And with Blue Monday fast approaching (cited as the ‘most depressing day on the calendar), our client and care home manager, Rhonda, decided she wanted to give some of society’s most vulnerable people a reason to smile!

After brainstorming with the other staff at the care home, Rhonda decided to host an activity day for the residents, and, as part of their treat, she wanted to provide a super scrumptious lunch. Knowing Hog Roast Archway’s reputation for delivering out-of-this-world dining plans, Rhonda immediately thought of us to handle the catering!

Rhonda’s warmth and compassion were infectious, and our team had lots of fun working with her on this event. Her goal for us was simple: she wanted Hog Roast Archway to make everyone feel well looked after and valued with a hearty lunch. Our catering manager, Alex, had just the menu in mind!

Sticking to Rhonda’s budget, Hog Roast Archway had opted to serve our Alfresco Menu, which is one of our most popular dining solutions for a reason!

Hog Roast ArchwayAs well as offering guests the chance to sink their teeth into our lip-smacking hog roast rolls, which are complete with stuffing, crackling and applesauce, this knockout spread includes a veggie option, desserts and Italian charcuterie boards featuring cold-cut meats, cheeses, breads, olives, sun dried tomatoes and various dressings. Not only are these antipasti platters incredibly delicious, but the communal aspect means they’re also great for getting people talking and bonding.

Just as Alex had hoped, this menu worked like a charm, and the care home residents found themselves coming out of their shells and forging friendships with people they hadn’t really spoken to before. It was wonderful to witness, and Rhonda couldn’t have been happier!

It’s been almost a week since we attended this event, and Rhonda has been in touch to thank Hog Roast Archway once again for making her event so special. The pleasure was all ours!
