This autumn, our Spitting Pig North London team had the pleasure of catering Ben’s 18th birthday, held indoors at a warm and welcoming venue decorated with twinkling lights and autumnal touches. With friends and family gathered to celebrate this milestone, Ben chose a menu centred around what he called “the ultimate comfort food”, our signature hog roast with all the classic trimmings, plus his personal favourite: fries.
As the guests arrived from the chilly evening, the smell of our slow-roasted hog filled the room and created an instant buzz. Our chef carved the perfectly cooked pork straight from the roasting machine outside, bringing a tray of succulent meat inside, serving it with beautifully crisp crackling, homemade sage & onion stuffing, and sweet, smooth apple sauce. It was the kind of hearty, warming feast that suits an autumn celebration perfectly.
To make sure everyone could tailor their plate their way, we included plenty of freshly baked bread rolls (with gluten-free options available) and, of course, Ben’s must-have addition: golden, freshly cooked fries. They were a massive hit with the teenagers, and more than a few adults too!
Guests helped themselves buffet-style, giving the evening a relaxed, sociable feel as everyone went back for seconds and even thirds. Laughter, chatter, and the sound of plates being filled made for a lively atmosphere befitting an 18th birthday.
It was a pleasure to cater such an important milestone for Ben. Warm food, good company, and a fantastic indoor autumn celebration, what more could we ask for?
