4th of July Roasts with Hog Roast Hampstead

Hog Roast HampsteadThis past month the US celebrated the 4th of July – it’s Independence Day. If you have ever been stateside then you will know just how big a holiday this is for the whole of America. A national day off, where food is at the core of the day with hot dogs, barbecues, and delicious roasts typically on the go. We may not be American, but here at Hog Roast Hampstead we can certainly get behind all of those things.

Fortunately for us, as an event caterer here in the UK that specialise in roasts and grilled foods, we were still able to take part in plenty of Independence Day celebrations. There are plenty of Americans here in the UK that may get a little homesick, particularly on their nation’s biggest holiday celebration of the year. Luckily for them, anytime they want a little slice of home for their own party they can come to Hog Roast Hampstead!

Hog Roast HampsteadWhile a pork roast may be our speciality, our chefs have taken the time to get inspired from all sorts of cuisines from all around the world. One of our favourites, and one that just happens to fit in very well with our overall style of dining, is the American southern slow roast. This is a dining style favoured in the warmer southern states. It’s a cookout style of dining, where friends and family each contribute a dish and the hosts will grill up a delicious feast outdoors. It favours a lot of spice rubs, marinades, and smoked meats. It’s akin to our pork roast, only every dish is left to simmer and roast extremely slowly just to get all of that added flavour and spice from the rubs and marinades to intensify nicely.

This past 4th of July our American Southern Slow Roast was a big hit with our American customers. Many came to Hog Roast Hampstead looking for that small taste of him, and we were able to provide! With fireworks in the sky and fireworks made in the kitchen with our flavours and textures, it was a perfect day of celebration here at Hog Roast Hampstead all through the 4th!
